1,000,000 Manhours LTI free was achieved in Dec 2019, this is a milestone of enormous value, because managing safety is never an easy task.
2.2 EIGHT GEMS

Our Eight GEMS (Getting Everyone Managing Safety) program is meant to educate and empower employees to intervene when they witness harmful acts, unsafe environments, or other safety procedures being violated. We are advocating for global safety by examining each of the GEMS in detail. We can all work together to attain our GOAL of a workplace with zero incidents.

We know that hand and finger injuries are a common occurrence in the business, and we are working hard to reduce them. Our mandatory Life Saving Rules reinforce what staff and contractors must know and do to prevent serious injury or fatality, such as wearing a seat belt. Those who break the rules risk disciplinary action.

In 2013, we created and implemented a new Hand and Finger Injury Prevention Program to actively address the issue and keep our employees safe. We have seen a reduction in our hand and finger injuries since implementation in recognition of this programme success.

We focus on strong safety leadership, fostering a positive safety culture, and ensuring full compliance with safety rules. By recognizing good practices and addressing behaviors that could lead to harm, we continue to improve our safety performance achieving a major milestone of 1,000,000 manhours LTI-free in December 2019, a testament to our commitment to safe operations.

EIGHT GEMS

Our Eight GEMS (Getting Everyone Managing Safety) program is meant to educate and empower employees to intervene when they witness harmful acts, unsafe environments, or other safety procedures being violated. We are advocating for global safety by examining each of the GEMS in detail. We can all work together to attain our GOAL of a workplace with zero incidents.
